The on-going battle between record label Chocolate City and recording artiste Brymo just heated up. Both parties have attended their first court hearing and like we envisaged, it’s not going to end so quickly.
The court hearing presided by Justice Bubba was held on November 11, 2013 at the Federal High Court, Lagos with the defendant (Brymo and his counsel) missing. The plaintiff (Chocolate City) were however present and represented by Ms. C.O Madubuko from L and A Legal Consultants.
MOMENT AFRICAN learnt that Brymo and his team turned down the court appearance because according to them, Brymo has not been served any court papers and therefore will not appear in court. Sources close to the Pop singer tell us he and his team are being advised by their legal team and are far from being ‘bullied’ around.
On the other hand, a source informs MOMENT AFRICAN that the counsel for Chocolate City did not bring the case file to the hearing thus forcing the judge to adjourn the case to a later date. The new date set is November 5, 2013.
MOMENT AFRICAN reached out to Chocolate City and also their counsel L&A Legal Consultants. No responses as at the time of this report.
